Tanks from Poland should be in Ukraine in March.
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, after a meeting in the Ramstein format, confirmed that the tanks that the allies promised to Kyiv would be handed over to Ukraine in mid-March.
He recalled that Ukrainian servicemen are already being trained in Poland.
Poland will bring the number of T-72 tanks transferred to Ukraine to 310 and is preparing Leopards. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference on February 13.
Poland has already delivered 250 post-Soviet tanks. We also plan to deliver the next additional upgraded 60 tanks and 14 Leopards. Also in the future, Ukraine will receive from Poland another 60 modernized T-72 and PT-91 Twardy.
On the same day, the President and Minister of Defense of Poland met with Polish instructors and the Ukrainian military, who are learning to drive German-made Leopard 2 tanks.
On February 13, Andrzej Duda and Mariusz Błaszczak observed training on the Leopard 2 at the military base and test site in Swietoszów, where the Polish 10th Armored Brigade is stationed.
We carry out allied activities not only by transferring weapons to Ukrainians, providing humanitarian assistance, but also by teaching Ukrainian soldiers so that they can better defend their homeland on Western equipment,” President Duda said.
