The mobilized citizens of Russia do not have the experience necessary for a successful offensive in Ukraine.
The use of mobilized military personnel by Russian troops is unlikely to create sufficient offensive potential for a large-scale and rapid mechanized offensive. This is stated in a new report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Experts recalled the words of the representative of the Ukrainian operational command “Tavriysk” Oleksiy Dmitrashkivsky, who said that the Russian military would have to complete the 155th Marine Brigade for the third time due to losses near Vuhledar. Before the defeat near this city, the 155th Marine Brigade numbered 5,000 invaders.
Also, the words of a Russian soldier of the 155th marine infantry brigade, who participated in the assault on Ugledar, were cited to ISW. He said that the brigade was 80-90% staffed with mobilized people.
Analysts believe that “the continued use by mobilized Russia who have failed to perform military tasks, such as detecting minefields and not having the knowledge of how to act if they come across them, indicates that the mobilized do not have the necessary combat experience that is needed for the successful conduct of a mechanized offensive.
The report notes that these conscripts likely received limited individual training and lack the cohesion, training and experience required to conduct large-scale offensive operations.
Under Ugledar, the command of the Russian Federation can overturn additional mobilized, but they are unlikely to be capable of conducting successful offensive operations.
Recall, a representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that during the assault on Ugledar in the Donetsk region, the Russian army could lose the entire composition of the elite 155th Marine Brigade.
