The North Atlantic Alliance has called for more help to Ukraine to fight the Russian aggressor.
The Russian Federation has not abandoned the idea of attacking Odessa in southern Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, February 13, by NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoane at an event organized by the Munich Security Conference in Berlin, writes Newsweek.
At the same time, he noted that the Kremlin does not have enough military power to carry out this plan.
The deputy secretary general suggested that Russia could use Transnistria for this, however, according to him, Russia would not be able to encircle Ukraine, as Moscow had planned.
“Today, Russia does not have enough strength to go through Transnistria and surround Ukraine from behind – that is the plan that is still there, then take Odessa. We do not see Russia having the strength for this,” he said .
Remember, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine believes that Russia can no longer capture Odessa and links this to the fact that the position of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea has weakened.
Earlier, the SBU detained a Russian agent who was aiming enemy missiles at energy facilities in Odessa.
