A military man can now become the First Deputy Minister of Defense: Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a corresponding decree.
According to the amendments, lieutenant general and vice admiral can become the first deputy minister for the period of the legal regime of martial law.
According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers must also submit proposals to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on strengthening democratic civilian control over the bodies and formations of the security and defense sector in accordance with NATO standards.
Earlier, Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov had already announced changes to the Defense Ministry.
