The Moldovan authorities confirmed the information of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, who previously reported on Russia’s plans to destabilize the situation in Moldova.
This, according to the local edition of Point, was announced by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. According to her, in the near future, saboteurs with military training may attack government houses and take hostages.
Sandu on Monday confirmed that the plan, transmitted by Ukrainian intelligence, provided for a coup d’etat and a change of power in Moldova.
Documents provided by Ukraine show “documenting the locations and logistical aspects of organizing these explosive actions,” Sandu said. In particular, they contain instructions on the rules for entry into Moldova for citizens of Russia, Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro.
The authors of these documents, Sandu argues, also rely on some internal forces. Among them are criminal gangs, to which the president attributed the opposition Shor party, some veterans and several people associated with businessman Vladimir Plahotniuc.
The purpose of these actions is to overthrow the constitutional order, change the legitimate authorities from Chisinau to an illegitimate one, which would put the country at the disposal of Russia to stop the process of integration into the EU, Sandu said.
The leadership of the Shor party accused Sanda of trying to usurp power.
We all understand why these statements were made. In fact, this is a clear attempt to usurp power in the country. Neither Moscow, nor Washington, nor Brussels stand behind us, but only the citizens of Moldova, – said the vice-chairman of the party, Marina Tauber.
Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv intercepted the plans of the Russian special services to destabilize Moldova, and this statement was confirmed by Moldovan intelligence.
