Vatican – Pope Francis arrived at the audience in a wheelchair because his knee pain still limited his movement.
Francis met on Thursday with nuns and religious superiors from around the world gathering in Rome. This is the first time he has used a wheelchair since he moved into the community.
Francis, 85, has been suffering from stretch marks on his right knee for several months. She revealed that she had recently received several injections to relieve pain, but continued to struggle to walk and stand.
“A wheelchair is probably a familiar sight as Francis tries to get up as much as possible to help heal the knee.” Reuters wrote citing the origin of the Vatican.
According to a TV report, the pope was last seen in a wheelchair at a hospital in Rome in July undergoing bowel surgery.
