Defenders of Ukraine on Saturday, February 11, shot down a plane of Russian invaders during the battle for Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“Today, fighters of the State Border Guard Service reduced the air fleet of the invaders by one combat vehicle. This is the second confirmed reactive aircraft destroyed by the MANPADS crew of the border unit in a week,” the statement said.
Border guards assumed it was a Su-25 attack aircraft.
Ukrainian soldiers shot him from a foreign-made man-portable anti-aircraft missile system. The aircraft began to smoke from the impact and began a sharp descent.
“Hit the ground, the plane crashed. Perhaps, the pilot “demilitarized” with the plane, our defenders did not see his ejection,” concluded the State Border Guard Service.
