Model Chrissy Teigen has finally weighed in on the finer points of her now-famous “bitch with pussy” tweet about then-President Donald Trump that prompted the Trump White House to ask him to resign (he didn’t).
The 2019 tweet blew up in the face of House Republicans during a hearing earlier this week as they desperately tried to denounce efforts to shut down conservative messages on Twitter.
But Trump officials reportedly tried to censor Teigen’s tweet, “because it was a derogatory statement directed at [then] president,” former Twitter employee Anika Collier Navaroli testified before House members on Wednesday.
The tweet remained active, Navaroli suggested, because Twitter’s policy at the time allowed “up to 3 insults” in any tweet.
Teigen appeared speechless Wednesday, when his tweet was memorialized in the congressional record. But he had more to say after “Daily Show” host Chelsea Handler joked that Trump should have appreciated the insult because it “involved three of his favorite things.”
In response, Teigen wrote that her tweet contained only two insults, because “pussy and ass go together.”
