For the duration of fighting the consequences of the devastating earthquake, the Kurdish forces did not intend to fight.
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party called on its forces not to take military action against the Turkish army while dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake. This was announced on February 10 by the head of the PKK’s political wing, Jamil Bayik, ANF reports.
“If the Turkish forces do not attack us, our forces will not take any military action against them, and this decision will remain in force until the end of the disaster,” he stressed.
Bayik mentioned that thousands of Kurds are under the rubble and every opportunity should be used to rescue them as soon as possible.
It can be recalled that on February 6, two strong earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred in Turkey, which affected neighboring Syria.
According to the latest data, more than 21,700 people are victims of the elements in the two countries.
