Eric Green has played a key role in efforts to hold Russia accountable and support Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden’s chief adviser on Russia and Central Asia at the National Security Council, Eric Green, is leaving his post. On Thursday, February 9, Bloomberg wrote.
It was mentioned that the reason for the departure was “the protracted conflict in Ukraine”, but the publication also indicated that the adviser had been in the service for more than those decades and now intends to retire.
It is already known in the White House, Green coordinated policy for the management of the National Security Council, its European team and government agencies. He helped prepare Biden for his 2021 Geneva summit with Putin and was central to shaping the administration’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
He also suggested responsibility to the Russian Federation for the unleashed war and additional support for Ukraine.
Earlier this week, Biden delivered an address to a joint session of both houses of Congress. He called Russia’s war against Ukraine a challenge for America, which gave an appropriate response and demonstrated its global leadership in defending democracy.
Recall that Biden in his annual speech to Congress promised to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
