US plans to open HIMARS training center in Europe

The program is available to NATO countries that have approved the sale of long-range artillery systems.

The US military plans to create a training center in Europe for the use of high-mobile artillery missile systems HIMARS. This was announced on February 8 by the Voice of America referring to Lieutenant General John Kolasheski, who is in charge of the US Army’s operations in the eastern part of NATO.

“We are still in the initial stage, but this will be a zone where we can unite several countries at once in one place,” the military said.

The proposed program is available to NATO countries approved for the sale of long-range artillery systems, including Estonia, Poland and Romania.

The HIMARS center will be similar to the Abrams training facility that opened in Poland last year, Kolaszeski said.

Remember, on February 8, the US State Department approved the possible sale of HIMARS installations, ammunition for them and ATACMS missiles to Poland for a total amount of up to $10 billion.

Poland will expand the training program for the Ukrainian military
