References to the “achievements of the Great October Socialist Revolution”, the desire to implement “Lenin’s ideas on building a communist society” and so on were removed from the law.
President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the de-Sovietization of the law. This was announced on Friday, May 6, by Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk on Facebook.
According to him, now the law does not mention “the victories of the Great October Socialist Revolution”; no desire to put into practice “Lenin’s ideas of building a communist society”; there are no references to programs developed by the communist party.
In addition, without priority to the rights of members of the Komsomol, communists and other “comrades”, nearly 1,200 actions of state authorities and administrations of the USSR, the Ukrainian SSR (Ukrainian SSR) was “cleaned”.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was instructed to carry out both at its level in the near future, as well as the development of the new Labor Code, Housing Code and Code of Administrative Violations.
Stefanchuk thanked the representatives who helped develop this law and voted for its enactment. He mentioned that they have done what the people’s representatives have not been able to do in the last 30 years of independence.
Recall, on April 21, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law on De-Sovietization of Ukrainian Legislation.
And before that, the Rada supported the nationalization of the property of Russians who openly rejected or supported the Russian-Ukrainian war.
