Tanks Challenger 2 will receive the 25th airborne brigade.
President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived at a military base in Dorset, southern England, to meet Ukrainian troops trained by the British Army.
Zelensky was shown Challenger training vehicles, which are used to train tankers.
In the photo from the military base you can see paratroopers of the 25th brigade. “Military” assumes that the tankers of this brigade will receive new British tanks upon completion of training.
Recall that the British Ministry of Defense plans to supply Ukraine with 14 Challenger 2 tanks by the end of March this year.
Today, Sunak said at a briefing at the training ground that the tanks would arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks, probably in March.
Currently, the Ukrainian military is undergoing intensive training in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
The Challenger 2 is a third-generation British main battle tank in service with the armies of the United Kingdom and Oman. It is designed and built by the British company Vickers Defense Systems.
The combat vehicle is equipped with a 120-mm L30A1 rifled tank gun with a length of 55 calibers. The tank has a modern fire control system.
Aiming cycle – the defeat is only 8 seconds. A well-trained crew is capable of hitting about seven targets per minute. During the exercises and tests, individual crews hit eight targets in 42 seconds.
