British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the expansion of the training program for Ukrainian troops to become fighter pilots and marines. He also said that the Challenger 2 tanks would arrive in Ukraine as soon as possible.
We are training the Ukrainians, we are giving you the necessary weapons so that you can fight back against Russian forces, and we are also trying to speed up the supply of weapons so that they reach Ukraine as quickly as possible in a few days, a few weeks, but not in a few months. Ukraine needs Challenger tanks as early as next month so that it can defend itself, the British Prime Minister said.
The UK will also train 10,000 Ukrainian troops and speed up the supply of weapons.
The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Great Britain signed the London Declaration on support and provision of military assistance to Ukraine in the long term.
This became known after Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Rishi Sunak met on February 8 at the Lulworth training ground in Dorset with Ukrainian Armed Forces tank crews who are learning to use the Challenger 2 in Britain.
The Sky TV channel reports that the leaders of the states reached the camp by helicopter, after which they were shown a Challenger 2 tank simulator, which was used for training purposes.
