The Verkhovna Rada adopted two laws simplifying the import of unmanned aerial vehicles and some other goods into the territory of Ukraine for wartime.
The corresponding bills No. 8360 and No. 8361-d was adopted in the second reading, Daniil Getmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, reports on Telegram.
The document states that temporarily, for the period of martial law in Ukraine, but no longer than until January 1, 2024, they will be exempted from taxation through import duties and added import tax of UAVs, optical and collimator sights, sights on the customs territory of Ukraine night vision, thermal imaging binoculars, monoculars and night vision devices.
At the same time, these benefits do not apply to goods originating from a country recognized by the occupying state and/or by the aggressor state, and imported from the territory of the occupying state or from the occupied territory of Ukraine .
Recall that General Atomics has offered to sell Ukraine Reaper MQ-9 drones, which can be used to collect intelligence, as well as carry weapons.
In April, Ukraine began negotiations on the purchase of heavy US strike drones MQ-9 Reaper.
