The city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region is now the most difficult sector of the front.
The invaders are trying to cordon off the city and take fire control of the main roads. Over the past week, Russia has continued to make small gains in its attempt to encircle the town. Probably, the occupiers are shooting through the roads into the city. This was announced on February 5 by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.
It is noted that after the Russian offensive, two main roads to the cities of M03 and H32, which are important for the Ukrainian defense forces, were under the threat of shelling.
British intelligence informs that according to preliminary information, the mercenaries of the Russian military campaign “Wagner” were able to establish control over the highway connecting Bakhmut and Seversk. However, there are alternative roads that the Ukrainian military can use.
While numerous alternative supply routes through the country remain available to Ukrainian forces, Bakhmut is becoming increasingly isolated, the British say.
Recall, Bloomberg wrote that officials in Europe and the United States of America recommended that the Ukrainian command withdraw troops from Bakhmut, Donetsk region, in order to accumulate resources for the spring counteroffensive.
