The leadership of the Ministry of Defense intends to “reboot” the anti-corruption department of the ministry, since it “failed” to fulfill its assigned tasks.
This was announced today, February 5, at a briefing by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, LIGA.net reports.
Unfortunately, I have to state this, this department has not coped with the tasks assigned to it in accordance with the law,” he stressed.
According to Reznikov, the situation in the department is so unsatisfactory that the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) gave him an order to conduct an internal audit against the employees of this department. He noted that the ministry had carried out such a check.
The minister also said that he met with representatives of anti-corruption public organizations, during which:
- agreed with them on cooperation to identify cases of corruption in the Ministry of Defense;
- asked them to propose “candidacies of people who are ready to come to work in this anti-corruption department.”
