Russian invaders in the temporarily occupied territories seize Ukrainian books from the funds of general and school libraries and burn them.
This was reported on the website of the Center for National Resistance.
Thus, in Rovenky, Luhansk region, cases of mass burning of Ukrainian literature in local boiler houses were recorded.
Note that the Russians borrowed the practice of burning books from Nazi Germany. At the same time, the Russians justify this by saying that they are seizing “Nazi literature,” and all Ukrainian books are included in the list of such literature,” the NCC notes.
In January, the CNS reported that the so-called Ministry of Education and Science, created by rashists in the occupied Luhansk region, sent a document to the heads of administrations of cities and regions, as well as subordinate educational organizations, with advice to remove books from the stock of school libraries from the list, which includes 365 positions.
This list includes, in particular:
- literature about the Holodomor in Ukraine;
- textbooks and reference books on the history of Ukraine;
- journalism published after 2014;
- books from the series “Famous Ukrainians”;
- fiction about the events of the period of modern history in Ukraine.
