Western publications note that the invaders may launch a large-scale offensive in the Donbas region.
The Russian invaders intend to launch a large-scale offensive in the next 10 days to capture Donbass, until Ukraine receives powerful tanks from Western partners. The Financial Times reported this in connection with an anonymous adviser to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The media added that according to Andriy Chernyak, a Ukrainian military intelligence officer, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin ordered his invaders to fully occupy the Donetsk and Luhansk regions by March.
Similar predictions about a Russian offensive were made during Russia’s annual celebration of victory over Nazi Germany on May 9 last year, but they did not materialize. At the same time, a significant build-up of Russian forces in the east and southeast of the country has now been recorded. Most of the fighting in recent weeks has been around Bakhmut.
Earlier Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar drew attention to the fact that this week the Russian occupation forces threw all their forces into the defense of Ukraine and besieged Bakhmut, and also launched a strong offensive in the Liman sector. However, Ukrainian forces repulsed the advance of the invaders.
According to analysts, the possible point for a new Russian offensive is in the west of the Lugansk region in the area of Kremennaya and Liman. Ukrainian officials and Western analysts say Russia has been massing forces there for weeks.
We note that the invaders tried to break through the defenses near Bakhmut.
