Over the course of this Saturday, China has neither confirmed nor denied that the second “spy balloon” discovered by the US, which this time flies over Latin America, is its own.
The Pentagon, announcing this Thursday through its spokesman, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, that they have discovered what they call a Chinese “spy balloon” that flew over the state of Montana (northwest of USA), announced yesterday the discovery of a new aircraft in the skies over Latin America.
This latest accusation received no response from the Chinese authorities, who this Saturday published only two communiqués prior to the publication of this article, dedicated to clarifying the situation created by the aircraft flying over USA.
As well as various official media such as state-run CCTV, Xinhua news agency, or media such as People’s Daily, Global Times or China Every day, the speakers of the communist regime on many occasions mention a white flying object that, according to the La Nación newspaper from Costa Rica, flew over the Central American country.
For its part, if a user searches on Weibo, the censored equivalent of Twitter China- Using the words “globe” or “airplane” along with the term “Latin America” with Chinese characters, only three publications appear about yesterday’s announcement USA.
diplomatic crisis
The discovery of the first of theseballoons spies in U.S. airspace sparked a diplomatic crisis between Washington and Beijing and led to the suspension of a trip that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken planned to make to the Asian nation this weekend.
On Friday, Beijing acknowledged that balloon which flies USA It belongs to him, although he assured that “this is a civilian airship used for research purposes, mainly meteorological.”
Following this announcement, Wang Yi, director of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with Blinken, in which he asked USA “Keep calm, communicate on time, avoid misjudgment and control disagreements.” (As reported by EFE)
