Negotiations are underway on the supply of Swedish missiles for IRIS-T to Ukraine – media

Berlin plans to deliver three more IRIS-T units to Kyiv in 2023 in addition to the first that arrived in Ukraine in October 2022.

Germany and Sweden are discussing a new military aid package to Ukraine, providing for Sweden’s supply of missiles and launchers for the German IRIS-T air defense systems in Ukraine. This was reported on February 3 by Bloomberg.

According to the publication’s sources, the discussions are confidential.

“Germany has asked Sweden to provide launchers compatible with the IRIS-T system. The negotiations may also make it possible to send more munitions for the IRIS-T systems being transferred to Kyiv,” said of publication.

The sources noted that Berlin plans to deliver three more IRIS-T units to Kyiv in 2023 in addition to the first that arrived in Ukraine in October 2022.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Oleksiy Reznikov, hinted at the provision of new IRIS-T systems.
