The transfer of GLSDB long-range ammunition to Ukraine, with a range of 150 km, could take nine months.
And this is in the event that they nevertheless become part of a new package of assistance to the Ukrainian people from the United States of America. First, the US Department of Defense must order these ammunition from Boeing. At the first stage, Washington will allocate $200 million for the supply of these munitions. It is reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.
Like other weapons provided by the US and allies, they won’t be deployed to Ukraine anytime soon: a knowledgeable official said the first deliveries would take about nine months after the US Air Force awarded a contract to bombmaker Boeing. – writes the media.
Recall, Reuters reported that the United States is preparing a $2.2 billion military aid package for Ukraine, including long-range missiles GLSDB, a hybrid of an aerial bomb and an unguided M26 rocket, with a range of 150 km.
Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are armed with the most long-range weapon provided to Ukraine by the allies, the HIMARS MLRS with MLRS shells, which can hit at a distance of up to 80 km.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has already stated that Ukraine is ready to guarantee that long-range missiles will not attack Russian territory, because the Armed Forces of Ukraine have enough targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
