In the United States, several police officers are under investigation who shot and killed an African-American man who had half of both legs amputated and who allegedly attacked another man with a knife.
Huntington Park Police in California confirmed in a statement that several agents (number not specified) were placed on administrative leave and pay leave pending completion of the investigation.
The event took place a week ago, but over the past few hours, a video has gone viral showing a man armed with a large knife running from two police officers who point a gun at him, trying to escape, dragging his semi-amputated legs. when trying to lean on a wheelchair.
Although not seen on the video, the police ended up shooting the man, whom the family identified as Anthony Low36 years old – died on the spot.
The case has many differences from the early January death of Tyre Nichols, an African-American man who died after being beaten by police officers who pulled him over for allegedly violating traffic laws.

However, the family of Anthony Low He also asked for an investigation into the incident and an analysis of a possible case of police abuse, such as the case allegedly committed against Nichols, whose funeral was held in Memphis on Wednesday with the assistance of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden Meets African American Community
U.S. President Joe Biden is meeting with black lawmakers at the White House this Thursday to discuss how to reform the police following the death of Nichols, whose brutal beating was captured on multiple security cameras.
As the Huntington Park police explained, the event Anthony Low It began after officers came to the aid of a man who received a “life-threatening stab wound that resulted in a collapsed lung and internal bleeding.”
The man described the attacker as a black man who got up from his wheelchair, “without any provocation ran up to the victim and stabbed her in the side” and then fled in his wheelchair.

“He was killed”
The police found the alleged suspect several streets away and stopped him, but ignored the agents’ orders and threatened them with a knife.
The statement said police officers used two stun guns to try to incapacitate the suspect, but to no avail, and “shooting involving an officer” followed after the threats continued.
The suspect was shot in the upper torso and pronounced dead at the scene, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
“The way they killed my son, they killed him in a wheelchair with no legs,” Anthony Lowe’s mother Dorothy Lowe said at a press conference on Monday, demanding justice for her son.
Family and community members who declined to discuss the alleged incident involving the man asked Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon to file charges against the officers involved.

Espacio Vital: Dr. José Suárez Reyes, neurologist and head of the department of neurodegenerative diseases at the National Institute of Neurological Sciences, said involuntary movements are considered rare and may be neurological in origin or secondary to another type of disease. He explained that neurological movements include tremors, dystonia (sprains), and myoclonus (hiccough-like shaking). A specialist in involuntary movements pointed out that they distinguish between a resting tremor when a person does not make any movements, and an intentional tremor when moving.
