Which of the people’s deputies went to defend Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces, said the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.
There are at least two people’s deputies who are fighting on the front lines – Roman Kostenko (ATO veteran, cyborg from the Golos faction – ed.) and Roman Lozinsky (parliamentarian, ex-member of the Voice – ed.). In fact, from the first day they went to the front and work very effectively both at the front and in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. They take part in meetings of both committees and the Verkhovna Rada,” Stefanchuk said.
According to him, Lozinsky, the first deputy chairman of the committee of the Council on the organization of state power, is a sailor of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, Kostenko is the secretary of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence, also a colonel of the SBU. In 2022, he participated in the defense of Nikolaev, as well as in the liberation of Snegirevka.
Stefanchuk added that he did not know of cases when the children of people’s deputies were sent to the front. The speaker of the Rada connects this with the young composition of the parliament.
As for the children (deputies – ed.), I don’t know about them. Probably, among other things, because we have a fairly young composition of the Verkhovna Rada. Who else simply does not have children, who have small ones. As for the older generation, I do not know about such cases, Stefachuk added.
