There is no talk in Poland about the possible transfer of American-made F-16 multirole fighters to Ukraine.
There is no topic of the transfer of Polish F-16s,” Polish Deputy Defense Minister Wojciech Skurkiewicz wrote on Twitter.
Thus, the Polish official reacted to reproaches that the transfer of the F-16 to Ukraine instead of the MiG-29 would mean the disarmament of Warsaw.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that the transfer of F-16 multi-role fighters or other aircraft to the Ukrainian Armed Forces is possible only in close coordination with other NATO allies, as was the case with Leopard tanks. At the same time, Morawiecki did not specify that it was the transfer of Polish aircraft.
Recall that the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak wrote in Telegram about “positive signals from Poland, which is ready to send them to us in agreement with NATO.” Poland has 48 American fighters. Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that Washington does not intend to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
