The aggressor country, the Russian Federation, is in a hurry to launch a second offensive on the territory of Ukraine.
The enemy wants to take advantage of the window of opportunity before the delivery of heavy armored vehicles to Ukraine. The occupiers have already moved to total war and a phase where material support and logistics play a key role. Therefore, now the Western allies of Ukraine must understand the inevitability of military support for the Ukrainian people. The commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Valdemaras Rupshis, stated this in an interview with Guildhall.
After all, now even a blind man can see that they are preparing for the next wave of offensive. And they can stop or change the plan only if they see that Ukraine has a sufficient amount of equipment, ammunition, weapons and trained personnel,” he said.
The general stressed that the Russian Federation is ready for a long phase of the war and has all the conditions to provide the army of invaders with ammunition, tanks and combat vehicles.
According to Rupshis, it is heavy armored vehicles that play an important role during the war. The occupiers understand that it will be too late for them to delay the offensive by the end of spring, because by that time the Armed Forces of Ukraine may receive heavy Western tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.
The commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces added that everyone in NATO understands that “your war is our war,” so the Alliance must support Ukraine with all available means.
Recall that the American Institute for the Study of War said that delays in the supply of Western tanks and armored personnel carriers could cost Ukraine the opportunity for a counteroffensive in the winter of 2023. And the Russian Federation, meanwhile, is preparing forces to launch its own offensive in the Luhansk region and is strengthening its operations in the Bakhmut region of the Donetsk region.
