The American leader wants to visit Ukraine, but he believes that this is not the best time for it, John Kirby said.
US President Joseph Biden wants to visit Ukraine in the future, but right now the time is not right for such a trip. This was said by the coordinator for strategic communication of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, in an interview with CNN, published on Friday, January 27.
According to him, Joe Biden often talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He also added that the main topic of their conversation was the issue of the Ukrainian army and security.
Kirby also answered a reporter’s question about whether the US president will travel to Ukraine in the near future. The American official noted that Biden wanted to do this.
“I think the president wants to do that at some point, but now is not the time,” the White House spokesman explained.
“I don’t want to be too specific but it will be many months.”
