Tragedies are increasing due to the misuse of alternative heating and lighting methods.
More than 800 people have been poisoned by carbon monoxide in Ukraine due to improper use of alternative heating and lighting methods, the State Emergency Service reported.
“Due to improper use of alternative heating and lighting methods, more than 800 people were poisoned by carbon monoxide in just two months. To avoid trouble, check if you are using the generator correctly,” the service the press of the State Emergency Service said.
The State Emergency Service in this regard reminds the basic safety rules for handling such devices:

the generator can only be connected externally;

the distance from the generator to windows and doors is at least six meters;

distance from walls and anything that can burn – at least 1 meter;

cover the generator from rain and snow with non-contact canopies. Don’t use a blanket for this!

Make sure you have carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
Recall that in early January, a whole family was poisoned by carbon monoxide in the Rivne region.
