China says COVID-19 death toll drops by almost 80%

The number of daily deaths from COVID-19 in Almaty China It has fallen nearly 80% since the beginning of the month, authorities said, indicating that the country’s severe outbreak of infections has begun to subside.

The announcement was made during Lunar New YearChina’s biggest public holiday, a period of frequent travel across the country that authorities have warned could lead to a new explosion of infections.
