The number of daily deaths from COVID-19 in Almaty China It has fallen nearly 80% since the beginning of the month, authorities said, indicating that the country’s severe outbreak of infections has begun to subside.

Doubts about the numbers
The Beijing figures are thought to represent only a small fraction of the extent of the infection, given the narrow criteria used to determine when death occurs due to COVID-19.
The CCE said the number of severe cases in hospitals also dropped to 36,000 on Monday, down 72% from the peak of 128,000 on January 5.
The announcement was made during Lunar New YearChina’s biggest public holiday, a period of frequent travel across the country that authorities have warned could lead to a new explosion of infections.
