German defense concern Rheinmetall is ready to supply Ukraine with ammunition for modern Leopard 2 battle tanks, DW reports.
“Rheinmetall is ready for this and has significantly increased its capacity for the production of ammunition, especially large calibers, in advance,” the group said.
Rheinmetall also noted that they have invested and continue to invest heavily in increasing the number of employees and creating new production facilities, perhaps referring to the construction of a new ammunition factory.
“We are doing everything to support Ukraine, as well as NATO and the federal government, with the necessary ammunition,” the defense company said.
It was previously reported that Ukraine will receive 80 Leopards from Europe.
