Alexey Reznikov said that there were mistakes in the contract for the purchase of products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Victoria Syumar said.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov spoke to members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy regarding the scandal surrounding food for Ukrainian soldiers. In the speech, the head of the Ministry of Defense admitted that there were some mistakes in the contract. This is what a committee member, People’s Deputy Victoria Syumar said on her Facebook page on Tuesday, January 24.
“The minister recognized that there are errors in the list of products from 400 positions. There are more than one. We are talking not only about eggs in kilograms and tons, but also about many other positions. That is why Deputy Minister Shapovalov left. in the near future,” he said.
According to him, the minister answered if he really sees the fault of the journalists in the publicity of this contract and why there was an appeal to the SBU to deal with this matter. In particular, according to the deputy, he said in the context of the SBU, it is purely about the employees of the Ministry of Defense, which is the source of the information.
Syumar added that the minister himself will state his position regarding the absence of claims against the journalist.
A member of the parliamentary committee also added that MPs have registered a law on the mandatory disclosure of purchase prices for food products by the Ministry of Defense.
It should be noted that earlier information appeared in the media that the Ministry of Defense allegedly buys products two to three times more expensive than their value in Kyiv stores. The leadership of the military department was summoned to the Rada because of this information.
The head of the Ministry of Defense Alexei Reznikov denied this information. According to him, the purpose of the “throw-in” was to undermine confidence in the Ministry of Defense on the eve of Ramstein-8.
