The Federal Security Service of Russia announced the arrest in the North Caucasus Federal District of a Russian citizen who “prepared a terrorist crime on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.” This was stated in the department’s message, published on January 23.
“In January of this year, an attempt by a supporter of the nationalist ideology of a Russian citizen to commit a crime of a terrorist nature, which he planned on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, was prevented in the territory of the North Caucasus Federal. District,” the FSB said.
It is known that “ready-to-use means of terror” were found and taken from the detainee’s residence.
The FSB stressed that the perpetrator had confessed.
A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated under the article of preparation of a terrorist attack.
Recall that in December last year, a court in Rostov-on-Don arrested a citizen of Russia and a citizen of Ukraine for two months on suspicion of espionage and treason.
