Venezuela received 1,000 vehicles produced in Iran and expects another 2,000 people to arrive in February as part of bilateral agreements signed between the governments of both countries, the Caribbean nation’s authorities said this Sunday.
Via Twitter, Minister of Transport Ramon Velázquez showed images of cars already in Venezuela and assured that there are a thousand units of the Saipa brand, with another 2,000 units of the IKCO brand to be added in February. a total of “four car models for the domestic market”.
“At the second stage, they will be assembled in Venirauto, a company established in 2006 with capital Venezuelan and Iranian and located in the state of Aragua (center) — with components made in the South American country,” Velasquez added.
Last November, the minister announced that they had reached Venezuela thousand cars coming from Iran as part of an alliance between governments, but this year has increased to 3,000 the number of cars they expect to receive in the first quarter.
Velasquez and other Venezuelan officials, including Agriculture Minister Wilmar Castro Soteldo, visited Tehran last November to attend the ninth meeting of the High-Level Joint Commission. Iran-Venezuelain which they agreed to include a sea bridge to expand bilateral trade.
The president IranEbrahim Raisi received his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, in Tehran in June, where they signed a 20-year cooperation agreement, in what the Persian leader called the beginning of an “unbreakable friendship.” (As reported by EFE)
