Canada actively supports Ukraine in its war with Russia, providing Kyiv with weapons, financial support and humanitarian aid.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Ukraine on Unity Day and said his country will continue to provide Ukrainians with humanitarian, military and financial support. On Sunday, January 22, the press service of the head of the Canadian government said.
He noted that Canada joined the Unity Day celebrations and honored all Ukrainians who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.
The Prime Minister added that Canada stands with Ukraine against violence, authoritarianism and threats to democracy.
“As Russia continues its brutal, unjustified aggression, the Government of Canada remains unwavering in its commitment to supporting the people and government of Ukraine in achieving peace and helping to secure a free and democratic future for Ukraine. We will continue to support Ukraine’s military, humanitarian, financial and more social assistance if needed,” he said.
It can be recalled that Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand, who is visiting Kyiv, announced the transfer of 200 Senator armored vehicles to Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the Canadian government plans to allocate funds for the purchase of the NASAMS air defense system for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the United States.
