The murdered Ukrainian agent Denis Kireev personally knew two people from the Russian delegation during the talks.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, said that intelligence officer Denis Kireev was going to Minsk to negotiate with Russia and buy time.

“I sent him (Kireev for negotiations with Russia in Minsk at the beginning of a full-scale invasion) there. And the first time and the second time he had to take the train after he was supposed to visit the SBU. Because the person died, we can say this: the main task we set him was to drag the process to gain time. Because Mr. Kireev personally knew two people from that negotiation process who represented the Russian side . I can express my completely personal opinion. Again, I want to emphasize: the person who deliberately did this (killed Kireev) had the goal of preventing us from interfering in other people’s game and dragging this process to allow our Armed Forces, let’s say, take some action to repel the enemy. remember those events, then the situation is close to critical. I think you should remember this good And there is a certain number of people who, let’s say, really do not want Ukraine to win tongue,” said Budanov in an interview with Radio Liberty.

Recall that the banker Denis Kireev was a staff member of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. He was killed in an SBU car and his body dumped on the street at the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
