The formal leader of Belarus has been deceiving the ruling leadership of Russia for a long time, believes Andrei Yusov.
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko leads the Kremlin leadership by the nose on the matter of his loyalty. In this regard, now there is no danger of an open invasion of the Republic of Belarus on the territory of Ukraine. This was stated by the representative of the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andrei Yusov on the air of the news telethon on Saturday, January 21.
He noted that rumors about the alleged invasion of Belarus are part of Russia’s psychological operation.
According to him, the Main Intelligence Directorate knows Lukashenka and his regime, including the number of strike groups, the readiness of forces and other points that allow us to assert that there is no threat.
Yusov added that even if the situation has changed, Ukraine is ready and has prepared for all possible scenarios.
“It is in Putin and Russia’s interest to escalate the Belarus issue as much as possible, but Lukashenka is not playing it well.
We recently saw how he led Lavrov by the nose, said how much he loved Putin, and then said that he saw no threat from Ukraine. He didn’t want to commit suicide,” explained the GUR representative.
Remember, Lukashenka said in a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Ukraine was an “interesting surprise” to him, because it did not fall for any “provocations” by Western countries against Belarus.
At the same time, Lavrov said that Moscow and Minsk have a common position on the goals of the so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine.
