Dmitry Mazepin’s yacht “disappeared” from Italy without a trace, as did the sanctioned Russian businessman himself.
Russian oligarch Dmitry Mazepin is wanted by Italian law enforcement after his yacht “disappeared” the moment it was confiscated as part of sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. The Italian edition of ANSA reported this on Friday, January 20.
Italian prosecutors are currently examining records in the resort town of Forte dei Marmi, where fertilizer magnate Dmitry Mazepin recently applied to rent a seaside villa.
In Italy, they are also looking for his yacht, which has “lost”: it is neither in the port of Savona on the Ligurian Riviera, where it used to be moored, nor in Sardinia, where it was registered.
It should be noted that Mazepin’s wealth is estimated at more than $800 million.
Russian oligarch may take yacht off Italy. Law enforcement agencies suggest he may now be in Tunisia.
The Italian police believe that Mazepin himself has returned to Russia.
It should be noted that earlier it was known that the ship left the port some time before it was officially confirmed that it belonged to Dmitry Mazepin.
Recall that after the start of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Italy also seized the villa, which belonged to Dmitry Mazepin and his racing driver son.
