During 2023, the Rheinmetall concern will be able to supply the Armed Forces with up to 15 tanks, subject to the permission of the authorities.
The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will be able to transfer 10 to 15 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine in 2023 if the German authorities decide accordingly. This was reported by the Rheinmetall concern in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
They added that repairing the Leopard 2 is quite expensive, so the company cannot finance it alone.
Earlier, the chairman of the board of directors of Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, said that his company is ready to transfer tanks to Ukraine no earlier than 2024, because the repairs take a long time. So, the cars must not only be painted, but also prepared for war use. To do this, the tanks were completely dismantled and then rebuilt. He said, there are now 110 decommissioned Leopard tanks of the first and second models in the warehouses of the concern.
Recall that in July it was reported that Rheinmetall was upgrading 30 BMP Marder in favor of Ukraine.
