The occupiers destroyed one of the best gymnasiums in the Luhansk region

The gymnasium is part of the ensemble of the Belgian architectural heritage of Lysichansk and continues to be included in the top 100 best schools in Ukraine.

In the Luhansk region, as a result of the shelling of the Russian occupiers, one of the best educational institutions in the region, the Lysychansk gymnasium, burned down. This was announced by the head of Luhansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai in the Telegram on Monday, May 2nd.

According to him, the other day, as a result of the target beating, the fire started in the gymnasium. A few hours later, the fire completely destroyed the more than a hundred -year -old architectural monument.

The gymnasium was built by the Belgians in the late 19th century. It is part of the ensemble of the Belgian architectural heritage of Lysichansk and continues to be included in the top 100 best schools in Ukraine.

The building withstood two world wars and the battle for Lysichansk in 2014.

Earlier it was reported that in the Lugansk region the city of Severodonetsk could be besieged following the example of Mariupol. Russian troops were constantly trying to make a breakthrough at Rubizhne and Popasnaya.
