Hungary, Austria and Slovakia, which until recently blocked oil sanctions, expressing their high hopes for the supply of this raw material from Russia, have decided to withdraw the veto on the introduction of the embargo of oil, ZDF reports.

Three EU countries have withdrawn their veto on the oil embargo against Russia. ZDF writes about it.

According to sources of the publication, Hungary, Austria and Slovakia, which until recently blocked oil sanctions, declaring their high reliance on the supply of this raw material from Russia, have decided to withdraw the veto on the oil embargo.

“Perhaps, the decision on the embargo should be made within the next few days, but will only be implemented in the next few months,” the publication added.

The authors of the article added that the reason for Germany’s recent change of course on this issue may be recent success in finding alternative oil suppliers.

Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who does not recognize Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine and blocks the supply of weapons to Kyiv to protect against Russian aggression, is included in the Myrotvorets website database.
