It is reported that based on this assessment, the European Council will make a further decision about the next steps for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
“The ascent process is a step-by-step process. For us now, the next important point, the important stage, is the” enlargement package” in the fall, which will show the progress made from the beginning of the year of each candidate country wishing to join the European Union “, – said the President of the European Commission.
Ursula von der Leyen called Ukraine “amazingly ambitious and strong and quick in achieving results.”
“This is very good. To support this process, the board will visit Ukraine in early February … It is important for us to achieve, together with the government of Ukraine, the highest quality possible, combine it with speed and ambition to it will be reflected in the autumn enlargement report, which will lead, hopefully, to an interesting and positive decision of the Council,” the President said in order of the EU accession process.
It was previously reported that at the beginning of March 2023, the EU will review Ukraine’s steps towards the European Union, at the same time, preparations for negotiations may begin.
