A group of 225 Ukrainians arrived in Spain to undergo training as part of the EU military assistance mission in Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine). About this Thursday, January 12, reported Ministry of Defense of Spain.
The military training program is designed for 400 Ukrainians every two months.
It is reported that 20 newcomers will master the HAWK air defense system (American military medium-range anti-aircraft missile system, manufactured by Raytheon).
Spain’s Ministry of Defense specified that most of those arriving had no combat experience and would receive basic training, including caring for the wounded and how to protect themselves from booby traps.
The report says this is the second group of Ukrainian military personnel to arrive in Spain for training after 64 military personnel underwent training in November and December.
It was previously reported that the Ukrainian military will be trained to work with the Patriot anti-missile system next week.
It will be remembered that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez. Among other things, they discussed Ukraine’s defense needs in the war with the Russian Federation.
