Representative. Ryan Zinke (R-Mont.) says he’s got your back, Buckaroos. (Watch the video below.)
House member MAGA trumpeted in the House on Tuesday that the “deep state” is trying to lock up cowboys forever in a speech that was far from home on the range.
“There’s no question that the federal government is coordinating with liberal activists and using politicians and media who are willing to carry their water,” he said. “…In many cases, they want to completely destroy the American cowboy, eliminate public access to our lands, and turn Montana into a national park.”
Not everyone was shouting yippee-ki-yay after the new Republican-led House voted to create a new committee to investigate “arming the federal government.”
Representative. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) said the committee was “basically designed to protect those who, frankly, are under investigation right now.” Representative. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) called the committee, likely chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a hotbed of conspiracy theorists.
Zinke has insisted he is a victim of the deep state, imagined as a cabal of liberal secret agents attacking right-wing interests.
“Despite repeated attempts by the deep state to stop me, I stand before you as a duly elected member of the United States Congress and tell you that there is a deep state and that it is perhaps the most powerful hidden weapon the left has against Americans.” Zinke said.
Zinke faced nearly 20 federal investigations as interior secretary under President Donald Trump before announcing his resignation at the end of 2018. During his tenure in Trump’s cabinet, he championed a significant historic reduction in monuments national, while promoting the administration’s anti-environmental policies.
