Duda announced the transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine

We are talking about an international coalition, where consideration of a proposal was submitted to provide Ukraine with the first package of Leopard 2 tanks.

Polish authorities have decided to transfer to Ukraine a company of Leopard 2 tanks as part of an international coalition. Polish President Andrzej Duda said this at a briefing in Lviv on Wednesday, January 11.

“We want to be an international coalition, and we have submitted a proposal for its consideration to provide the first package of Leopard 2 tanks, which, I hope, will include the other batches of these tanks that in other countries, will be sent to Ukraine,” he said.

Andrzej Duda pointed out that such a decision has already been made in Poland, but did not give details about the “tank” coalition.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany will not transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine alone – only with its allies.

It has also been reported that the EU and NATO support the provision of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
