At the same time, he noted that Russia’s actions in the combat zone during the “Christmas truce” it announced once again showed the world that the Russian Federation is “lying.”
“The world has seen again these days that Russia is lying even when it pays attention to the situation at the front with its statements,” the president emphasized, commenting on the “pause” of the Russians.
He recalled that the invaders fired incendiary shells in Kherson after Christmas, and also fired in Kramatorsk and other cities of Donbass. Their attacks are aimed at civilian targets.
“All this when in Moscow they were talking about an alleged ‘truce’,” Zelensky said.
He also added that only the strengthening of Ukraine, the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country, the return of our people from Russian captivity are real guarantees of peace.
It should be noted that on the night of January 8, the invaders shelled the Tauride microdistrict of Kherson with incendiary bullets.
