Supporters of Brazil’s former President defeated the country’s Parliament

Protests broke out in Brazil over dissatisfaction with the results of the presidential election.

In the Brazilian capital, supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro stormed the jail of security forces and entered government buildings. On Sunday, January 8, CNN reported.

In particular, they destroyed the building of the National Congress (Parliament), the Supreme Court of Brazil and the parking lot near the presidential palace.

Footage released by CNN shows protesters carrying Brazilian flags smashing windows in buildings. Penetrating inside, they committed acts of vandalism there.

Videos of alleged acts of vandalism at the capital’s presidential palace are being published on the Web.

Police services are drawn to the palace building. Preparations are underway for a military operation.

Federal Police Chief Anderson Torres said the perpetrators will not be punished.

“Disorder is unthinkable and disrespect to institutions is unacceptable. I have ordered that every member of the civilian police work relentlessly to restore order as much as possible. Vandalism and theft will run counter to the strictness of the law, he added.

Mass protests by supporters of former head of state Jair Bolsonaro are currently taking place in the Brazilian capital. The demonstrations are expected to be peaceful. However, the protests turned into widespread seizure of government buildings. The protesters are demanding the resignation of President da Silva.

The President of Brazil Lula da Silva is not in the capital, in the morning he is in the state of Sao Paulo, where he is investigating the consequences of the floods in Araraquara.

It will be remembered that the inauguration of President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took place in the capital of Brazil. The politician, who was elected from the leftist Workers’ Party and inaugurated for a third term as president, took the oath before the National Congress.

Earlier in Britain there were protests by junior medical personnel.
