Patients are accompanied by relatives or close relatives, taking into account the need for outside help and support due to a serious condition, as well as additional postoperative care.
Another group of Ukrainians was evacuated to clinics in Europe for treatment and recovery, including patients with mine explosion injuries. This was announced on Friday, January 6, by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
“Thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the European Commission, a medical evacuation of another group of Ukrainian citizens who suffered as a result of the armed aggression of Russia was carried out. In particular, this week 17 patients were evacuated and sent for special treatment. Ukrainians were admitted to medical facilities in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway,” the message said.
As part of the group, patients with mine explosion injuries were evacuated. Among them are people from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkov, Vinnitsa and front-line territories who suffered as a result of the shelling of the enemy.
There are also civilians with cancer in the group.
“All of them will have to continue with special treatment and subsequent rehabilitation,” the ministry said.
The Ministry of Health noted that ongoing fighting, shelling and damage to infrastructure significantly complicates the provision of medical care in eastern Ukraine and near the front territories.
It was previously reported that US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill sent gifts to children with cancer from Ukraine who were being treated in the United States.
