The services of the “transporter” cost the evader $3,000, but he failed to leave the territory of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officials detained a 55-year-old man who tried to illegally leave the territory of Ukraine and tried to swim across the Tisza River. This was announced on Thursday, January 5, by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
It was noted that the man, together with the “shipper”, was stopped in Transcarpathia near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by the border guards of the Forks Department of the Mukachevo detachment.
The “transporter” turned out to be a resident of Transcarpathia, who, armed with a night vision device, intended, together with a “client” from the Kharkiv region, to bypass the border guards and indicate to the fugitive the place where he should be to illegally cross the territory of a neighboring state.
Transcarpathian even gave a wetsuit to the resident of Kharkiv, because at the crossing point the border runs along the Tisza river.
Such services cost the evader three thousand dollars, but he failed to leave the territory of Ukraine, because he was detained 600 meters from the beginning of the crossing.
Remember, for the day on January 3, 14 men tried to cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border illegally.
In total, since the implementation of martial law in Ukraine and as of December 30, 2022, border guards have detained nearly 12,000 men of military age for attempting to cross the border illegally.
