On the morning of Thursday, January 5, weather forecasters promise from minus four to minus six degrees and light snow, and in the evening – around minus 12 degrees, the sky will be clear. Further, until January 10, the frost will intensify.
Plus, the temperature will drop and drop to -27 during the holidays. Such a low temperature will last for about five days.
“On Saturday night in Moscow it will be from -24 to -26 degrees, and in some places up to -29, and even -30 in the region. You should also not expect warming during the day, because the highest value is -20 … -22 degrees,” – said the Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
According to a Russian meteorologist, such abnormal weather is considered a dangerous phenomenon and occurs due to a rare ultrapolar process in which air masses move from the northeast to the southwest.
“This will be the coldest 5-day period in the last 23 years, that is, since the beginning of the 21st century,” he concluded.
