Moscow spreads lies about the participation of Polish soldiers in the war and their mass deaths on Ukrainian territory.
Russian propaganda continues to promote lies about the massive participation of “Polish mercenaries” in the war in Ukraine. Stanislav Zharin, Commissioner for Information Space Security of the Polish Government, wrote about it on Twitter on January 2.
He posted screenshots of Russian news reports in which Kremlin political analyst Aleksey Podberezkin claimed “massive losses among Polish volunteers.” The propagandist suggested transferring the bodies of Poles from the front in Ukraine to the Polish Embassy in Moscow or creating a separate cemetery for them on the territory of Ukraine occupied by Russia.
“This topic is a consistent element of propaganda efforts in the Russian information space aimed at the Russian public,” Zharin stressed.
According to him, the spread by Russian “experts” of a false narrative about units of Polish soldiers fighting in Ukraine is part of the Kremlin’s desire to portray Warsaw as a “warmonger”.
